The new Colorado has a potent engine that packs a powerful punch, an updated list of safety features, increased towing capacity, and a larger body design. The Nissan Frontier carries over many of its features from the 2022 model which includes an equally potent engine and a well-endowed list of infotainment features.

When it comes to trucks, what’s under the hood matters just as much as how stylish the exterior is. Colorado’s turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four engine is as impressively powerful as the new exterior is sleek and handsome. The engine produces up to 310 horsepower and 430 Lb.-ft. of torque depending on the trim level. It’s paired with a slick eight-speed automatic transmission that provides timely shifts. The suspension on the Colorado dampens road imperfections and provides a smooth ride even when you leave the pavement and take it off-road. The Nissan Frontier has a 310-horsepower V6 engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Frontier’s engine produces significantly less torque than the Colorado, generating only 281 Ib.-ft. On and off the road the Frontier provides a well-composed riding experience. However, the Nissan Frontier has a lower max towing capacity of 6,720 pounds, which is nearly a thousand pounds lower than the Colorado.
All trim levels of the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado are a four-door crew cab with spacious seating for 5 passengers. In the cockpit, the Colorado features an 11.3-inch infotainment display with an available matching 11-inch digital gauge cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay®, wireless Android Auto™, available Google built-in, and an available wireless device charger make staying connected easy.
The Nissan Frontier has seating for four passengers in the standard cab and five in the crew cab. It has a smaller 8-inch infotainment system (9-inch available) that also includes wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, but Google built-in is unavailable.
The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado has a 5-foot-2-inch bed and an available StowFlex tailgate that includes a 45-inch-wide lockable storage box in the tailgate. The StowFlex tailgate is great for storing emergency supplies, and tools, and even has a drain that allows it to be used as a cooler.
The 2023 Nissan Frontier has two bed options, a 5-foot short bed or a 6-foot-1-inch long bed. It lacks any additional tailgate features for extra storage.
