The 2023 Tahoe offers a spacious 178-cubic-foot passenger cabin with all three rows of seating deployed and can still provide 25 cubic feet of cargo space. This is significantly more than the 157 cubic feet of passenger space and 12 cubic feet of cargo space offered by the 2023 Sequoia. If you want more cargo space in the Chevy, just fold the second and third rows, and you've got 123 cubic feet at your disposal. Otherwise, you can easily carry seven adults as they'll be comfortable even in the third row. Unlike in the 2023 Sequoia, the third row is best suited for children and teenagers.

The smaller unit is a 5.3-liter L84 with an ample 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, while the larger 6.2-liter L87 unit can deliver 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The Duramax turbo diesel six-cylinder engine delivers 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, but you can spec a four-wheel-drive system if desired. If you require off-road prowess, select the Z71 Package, which gives you a two-speed transfer case, all-terrain tires, underbody protection, adjustable dampers, and air springs.

The 2023 Sequoia has a hybrid powertrain that couples a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor for a total system output of 437 horsepower. It sends power to the rear wheels or all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. There’s no other powertrain option, and the presence of the battery is one reason for the 2023 Sequoia’s lower trunk space. There’s a TRD Pro trim level, but it doesn’t offer the same gamut of off-road-oriented features as the Z71 Package on the 2023 Tahoe and is thus less capable.
