Chevrolet Traverse Gets First Off-Road Trim

The Chevrolet Traverse has always been a reliable family hauler, but until this year, it was more adept at cruising down paved roads than taking on trails. The 2024 model of the Traverse ushers in a new era for the three-row crossover in more than one way. It kicks off the Traverse’s fourth generation and introduces the all-new Z71 trim, an off-road version that sports a twin-clutch all-wheel drive system, and more. Everything You Need to Know About the Z71

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse Z71 is the solution for adventure seekers who’ve added a few explorers in training to their crew. It has room for the whole family plus all the gear you need for your next excursion. It’s motivated by a 328-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that generates 326 lb-ft of torque, enough to tow up to 5,000 pounds. But most importantly, the Z71 trim is outfitted with trail-ready equipment that can easily get you to your next campsite.

The Z71 builds off the LT trim and adds off-road features that start with a front fascia designed for an improved approach angle. An aluminum skid plate protects the undercarriage and signature Z71 red tow hooks are standard. In addition, it includes the twin-clutch AWD system mentioned above and five essential off-road features:

1. Suspension Lift: The Z71 adds 1 inch of ground clearance and a wider axle track for additional stability and control.
2. All Terrain Tires: 18-inch wheels sporting a unique design exclusive to the Z71 are wrapped in 18-inch all-terrain blackwall tires ready to tackle mud, sand, snow, gravel, and more.
3. Off-Road Dampers: Get a smoother ride over rough terrain with unique dampers featuring hydraulic rebound control designed to absorb shocks and vibrations more effectively.
4. Terrain Mode: The Z71 has an extra terrain mode added to the driver-selectable drive modes which adjusts throttle response and traction control based on the terrain.
5. Hill Descent Control: A feature that helps maintain a controlled speed on steep inclines.

Trailering Package: Includes a hitch camera view with hitch guidance and a heavy-duty cooling system.

Enhanced Driving Package: Includes Super Cruise, adaptive cruise control, park assist, driver attention monitoring, and a 10-speaker Bose stereo.
